I am looking for a automotive gps since the motorcycle gps units are kind of expensive. I do not know much about basecamp or map source, but need something that I can send a completely custom route to. I was looking at the Nuvi 2555lmt, but have read mixed reviews about it. Can anybody help me? It doesn't need bluetooth or anything fancy just the ability to seamlessly accept custom routes.
Keep in mind some things, Nüvi's are not build to Handel the vibrations that are common on motorcycles. All sow important, water resistance, how do u keep it dry? U need to be able to power the device, for that u need to connect The USB power cord in the back of the nuvi. How are u going to mount it, there are RAM mounts, but keep in mind the vibrations. My advice, save up to buy a Zumo 340 u won't regret it!
