Rides not showing up in Garmin Connect App

Hi all,

I did a quick search but couldn't find anything on this.

I'm using a Garmin 510. When I complete a ride, it automatically uploads to my phone using bluetooth. The device says it was successful. When I load Garmin Connect on the phone (android) it's not visible. I select refresh but it's still not there. However, when I go onto the Garmin Connect website, it is visible. It's now nearly an hour after I completed the ride and it's still not showing up in the app.

Anyone else noticed this? Am I doing something wrong?

edit: Ok, so just tried uploading with the Garmin Connect App open. It detects the transfer and shows the ride as 'Untitled'. However, as soon as I select refresh, it disappears again. I can open the ride as long as I haven't selected refresh, but when I go back to the activities page it's gone again.

Cheers,
Brett
  • I'm still working through this. Today I finished a ride at approximately 9am (UTC+9:30). It automatically uploaded to GC, but I could not see it in the app. It was visible on the website. I've been checking in the app throughout the day and have just seen it at 3:30pm. I noticed on rides at the end of the day that the ride was instantly visible in the app. I'm thinking this could be related to the timezone or something like that as morning rides are only visible from mid afternoon yet evening rides are visible straight away.

    Anyone else seen this behaviour?

    Cheers,

I might consider not using that App and just using the browser both on your phone & computer. Sounds like it has bugs to be fixed.
  • Still working on this. It turns out that once it passes Central Daylight Time (eg Chicago time) then the rides are visible for the current day. This equates to 2:30pm for me. So a ride earlier than this will be visible on the website but not the app until this time. Once it ticks over midnight in Chicago (i'm guessing the server resides in that time zone?) then the ride is visible in the app. I've submitted a report to Garmin but am yet to get any responses to any issues I've reported in the last few weeks.

Mate - I just wanted to let you know that you're not going crazy. I am seeing exactly the behaviour you have described with my Garmin 510 and Galaxy S3 mobile app combination. And major kudos to you for the time you've dedicated to virtually doing Garmin's for them in diagnosing what appears to be a Locale related defect. It's very disappointing that Garmin haven't acknowledged you yet - not to mention it's just plain rude.
  • Thanks Dazingtons! It's still playing up even after the latest app update (for android anyway). Very disappointing that they haven't fix it yet. It doesn't strike me as being that difficult to resolve. Have you put in a fault report? I did, but never got anything other than the automated response. Maybe you'd have more luck?

    Cheers,
    Brett
  • Happy to say this finally appears resolved. I've updated to the new Garmin Connect app for android at now the rides show up and stay up, even in the morning!
