Oregon 450: cannot change colour / thickness of active bread crumb route?

Hi,

I've got an Oregon 450 with UK OS 1-50,000 maps on the micro-SD card and I mainly use the device for cycling, so it is mounted on my bike stem, approximately 40cm from my eyes. The colours on the OS mapping are dark red for main 'A' roads, yellow for minor roads and blue for motorways. For those of you not familiar with the UK OS maps, these colours can't be changed as they form part of the mapping colour pallete.

I can change the colour of a route in Track Manager: <choose route>: 'set color', and then when I select the route and go to 'view map', I can see that the colour has been changed. But when I click 'Go', it then defaults to purple. No matter what I change on the device, the pre-loaded route I'm following always becomes purple. This is annoying because it's difficult to differentiate between that and and the dark red of the 'A' road on the base map.

If the active bread crumb route can be changed from purple, please can someone explain how.

The other question I have is: can the width of the active route be changed? It's useful to have it scale when I zoom in and out but sometimes the route is lost on the map, particularly when cycling in built-up areas. It would be useful to be able to change the width.

Thanks,

Mike.
