Getting elevation data on Edge 500

Hi,

I'm using Garmin Connect to create courses to load on my Edge 500. If I convert an recorded activity into a course and load it into my Edge 500 I can see elevation data there. However when I create a new course and load that to my device I get no elevation data showin on the device eventhough the website shows a chart.

How can this be fixed?

I think you need to go out and ride that course, then it will add the elevation data. But elevation data is not anything more than a "gee-whiz" number for me, so I've not paid attention to whether it's there or not for the few course I made.

It's a bug in Garmin Connect and Garmin seems to have no interest in fixing it. If you want elevation data you will have to use another application.
