Nuvi 2790T - entering destination location

Former Member
Former Member
Hi,

I have tried searching the forum for this but cannot find anything relevant.

When I am selecting a destination location, after entering the town (or post code) it asks for house number and street name. If I do not enter anything but simply hit done I am then presented with a list of possible streets. I may not know the street name, all I want is to get a route to the town but there does not appear to be a way to complete the entry without picking a street.

Is there a way around this?

Thanks

David
  • Yes, Where to>Categories>Cities :)

    Yes, Where to>Categories>Cities :)

Page 3 in the manual I looked at.

And in my manual - I can read.

    It says

    6. If necessary, select the city/postal code
    7. ENTER the number of the address
    8. Touch DONE
    9. ENTER the number of the address
    10. Touch DONE
    11. If necessary select the street
    12. If necessary select the address

I want to stop after 6. - but it won't do it.

    Please answer my original question
  • I did ... Where to>Categories>Cities :)

You're trying to enter an address, the city only option is separate from that.

Although I notice your other thread mentions a 3790, here you say 2790, which model do you have?

    Its a 3790T - typo when I started.

I see the method you are suggesting and it does work. However, the actual instruction is on page 6 and it states

    Where to?>Points of interest>Towns

OK, that one is sorted, thanks

  • Well now I know you've got a 3790 it'll be easier in future, kinda hard answering queries on a 3790 when you make a typo and tell us you have a 2790 :)
