Same issue.. takes ages to upload an activity from the iphone app to Garmin connect. And no manual control to force the upload. Will let you know if I have a solution
Same issue here. It seems to have started about a month ago to take days to upload. Before then, it usually uploaded within an hour or so. Neither is acceptable. I now have four rides that have not uploaded for ten days.
I have the same issue. Really frustrating. I can wait days for it to upload and it'll start working. I've tried shutting the app down and restarting it, but that doesn't seem to help as far as I can tell. Finally it decides to connect and the files are downloaded. It only started a couple of months ago after the last upgrade of the Connect app. Very annoying.
But... the fix is to simply leave the Garmin Connect App running in the foreground of your iPhone. Put it down on your desk. And leave it for a few minutes...
I find that even stuck activities get uploaded within a few minutes. Usually before the phone screen turns off.
I'm pretty sure this is just a bug in the Garmin Connect App. IOS does restrict the types of things that an APP can do in the background. But if I recall correctly that is limited in the amount of work done. And it since it can get the file from the Garmin it should be able to update the website at the same time.
And I think that was the behavior way back when (well earlier this year...) Looking at the App store it says that the current version is 1.2 (July 22, 2013) and that almost fits with the time frame when it stopped working correctly.
This is still a problem. I cant understand why all the other iphone apps such as Wahoo Fitness or iSmoothRun can upload to Garmin Connect easily and the Garmin app cant?
Same here; and more, i can not connect my unit with the cable on my Mac. The unit will connect for 5 seconds than disconnect and I will get a message the the peripheral was not ejected properly. Not frustrating, but very, very frustrating...
come on garmin sort out this issue of rides not being uploaded from iphone garmin connect to website .. very frustrating .. your making me head back to strava on the iphone
Just caught the new FR220 watch, and was impatient to try an activity upload without using my computer, and, while my watch paired correctly, I didn't even manage to upload an activity once.
Hope it will be fixed very soon, it was a key feature for me...
