Me log you long time - what's up with the slow upload from iPhone app?

I recently purchased an edge 510 and am using the iPhone app that allows livetrack/automatic upload of completed activities. I commuted in today, hit stop on the device, got the "activity uploaded" message and livetrack ended. All good. But get to my desk 30 min later and the activity is not in connect.garmin.com. This is not the first time. Sometimes it seems to take hours to make its way to the connect app. I assume there is some sort of batch process being run ... or something ... to get the data over to connect. I'm impatient and like to view my results after the ride...not hours later. Makes the feature less useful as I now have to connect my device to my computer in order to analyze. Is this expected behavior? Will it be "fixed" ? thanks for cool product.

Same here. Did you ever get any fix to this?

    Best Regards,
    Ivan.

If you know how to fix it and therefore how easy or hard it is can you supply more details as to what the underlying problem is?

I cannot upload at all anymore and live track does not work. Seems latest app update. Pretty unconscionable as these were the two reasons I got 810. Garmin seems to have serious quality control issues. I agree with prior poster that company is not responsive.

Same deal with me. Have now deleted the app as it was constantly clearing then downloading 6months of activities again and again. I wish we could set how far back we wanted the history to go in the app. 2w would be fine for me.

When you have the problem next how about scrolling to the bottom or the activity list in the app and seeing if it is still downloading history. I have a suspicion that the app is prioritising the download over the upload and live track.

That is exactly what it does but it gets stuck downloading history. I have a large history from biking across US. Can't get by this point.

Has anyone got any response from Garmin Suport for this issue?

Hate to have activities on my iPhone Garmin Connect app that doesn't upload for hours or days.

I am having the same problem. It seems the stupid app downloads all of your previous rides FIRST before it uploads your latest ride. I had the brilliant idea to just delete a bunch of my previous rides on my iPhone so it wouldn't take so long, little did I know that it also deletes the rides from the PC side as well. So... I lost approximately 1600 miles worth of rides and data. I am really pissed off. Parralix, you're right, the mobile app is crap. I could have saved a bunch of money, bought the 500, and plugged the device into the PC each time to upload my ride.

Yeah, smart-ass, the "underlying problem" is that it downloads all the previous rides at the same time it is trying to upload your latest ride. You don't need to be a software developer to realize that uploading the latest ride should be a priority before downloading any previous rides. Or how about having a setting to set how far back to download rides as someone suggested. Does it really need to download 200+ rides on my iPhone since January?? Seems to me this is just common sense.
