change of email address means loss of all data

I changed my email address in myGarmin account and Ive lost all my data. Any suggestions how to get it back or where I went wrong?

Hi there thanks for your response, when I sign into garminConnect I get the welcome dashboard screen ie none of my previous rides are there. Hope this helps

Sorry I don't use Garmin Connect so unsure why changing e mail would cause a problem.
