Garmin 450T Geocache Management

It seems as if when I am geocaching with my 450t and report a geocache found/lost/etc, that I can't get out of a mode where the compass is pointing at a geocache. Consequently, on the map page, regardless of profile, my location has a bearing line pointing to a geocache. The only way I've been able to address the issue is by connecting the gps to a computer and pulling all geocaches off the device. Is this normal? If there are geocaches loaded, and I no longer want to locate a geocache, how do dis-associate the geocaches that are on the device?
  • This isn't really the forum for those sorts of issues ... you'd be better off trying here http://forums.groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showforum=11

This is an issue for this forum. My issue is specific to the Garmin 450 series, not a geocache topic for the geocache website. If geacaches have been loaded into the 450t, the compass seems to default pointing to the nearest geocache. If I go into the recreation profile, I want the compass to be pointing "North." How do I do this.
  • The forum I pointed you at is for GPS and Technology, but if you don't want to use it you can continue asking here ... but it's been over a month now with no replies, I guarantee you'd get a reply within a day on the other forum :)

Okay, I'll give it a try. Asking Garmin was certainly a waste of time.

I had a related geocaching question for the 450 that I tried to ask on the Garmin opencaching.com forums, but they seem to have blocked everybody from posting there (or have at least moderated it enough to make their forums useless.)

I suppose I should ask my question over on Groundspeak's forums that are more open.

When you ask here, you are not asking Garmin, you are asking users of Garmin fitness products. Why this forum is only fitness devices I don't know. But that's the way it is. If you want to ask a question to Garmin, then you have to call Garmin support as they don't maintain a presence here. If you want to ask a question to users of the 450t, then try the forum suggested to you, or google for gps forums, there are several that have many garmin users.
