Weather info missing

Hi!

I live in Finland in a city called Lahti. Lahti has 100 000 residents making it the eighth largest city in Finland, quite big in Finland's scale.

My problem considers the weather info in Garmin Connect. Problem is simple - there isn't any weather info when I've completed a workout here in my hometown. Funny thing is that in tiny villages and cities near Lahti Garmin Connect always finds and shows weather information. I've discussed this issue with other Garmin users in running forum and it seems that Lahti is about the only place in Finland where the information isn't available.

Is there any solution for this?

Regards,

Jouni
  • Anyone follow up with you on this? I see the same issues - found a thread where folks mentioned proximity to an airport for weather information, but no confirmation from Garmin.
  • I just had a look at the weather information displayed for my activities, and airport codes are referenced. The peculiar thing is that certain activities have weather information from the local airport (CYOW) and others, even activities run on the same course, have information from the airport in Massena, NY (KMSS), which is 125km away. That is bizarre.
  • Interesting, I live less than 40mi from ATL, nothing. Anyone from Garmin monitoring who can confirm how this should behave? I also just looked back simply to see if info was set for any (I travel). I did find a few, but from less likely locations (more rural). Its as if they only gather the info from smaller airpark/airports....
  • Still, No weather information.
i can get weather information from Sport tracks, but not from Garmin.

    same issue, from year 2009.

    - This Garmin Connect -
  • Showing up here, recent runs pulling weather from KMGE or KPDK depending on where I ran.

Took me a bit to figure out the weather is displayed on the upper-right corner of the map though. It was a bit more obvious in Classic mode.
