Too many waypoints, Garmin nuvi2597 splits up route.

My first Sat Nav. I'm trying to do some stuff and its not easy.

I would like to be able to plan a route using google maps. I have done so and them imported to Tyre and then imported to Basecamp and then sent to device.....wow this is complicated. It's not a long route, 160 miles. However, the Garmin doesn't like it at all and insists on splitting the route into 10 different trips.

Is there a straightforward way of doing this? Is it possible to save such a route? I wouldn't have thought that 160miles is such a long route to have to deal with.

Can someone with some Sat Nav experience pleas offer some tips.
  • The problem is that the newer nuvis don't do 'routes'. They use something called 'trip planner'. Trip planner is a collection of routes that create a 'trip', so what you're seeing is the way trip planner has created the trip from your 'route'.

Thanks Sussamb. Not quite sure what you mean. However, I sacked off Google maps and Tyre and find I can do all the planning with Basecamp, although it is a bit slow and sometimes has a mind of its own. I'm getting the hang of it though.

    Cheers.
