Elevation Gain not Showing

Hi, I got a FR-10 watch for father's day today. It's great - just one question so far. I went on an out-and-back run today and I was able to see my pace, distance and a map on the Dashboard and Analyze/Activity pages. I saved it as a course and on the Explore/Course page I can see the elevation chart. I specified it as the course for my one activity, but the Dashboard and Activity pages are not displaying an elevation gain (it shows "Elevation Gain: --".

My run went down about 300 ft and back up. Since I started and finished at the same point, is that why there is no elevation gain shown? Or is something wrong?

Thanks.

Very frustrated that my fr10 isnt showing elevation when connected to the computer. Some past activities....yes. But recently, no. This is an important tool in my training and it wastes so much time having to figure it out on another site.

I have the same issue..... I deleted all of my runs and reloaded and now I have NO elevation on any of my runs.... I initally thought it was an issue with longer runs as it only seemed to be over 10 miles, but now no runs have elevation...... can anyone advise when this will be corrected so that I can upload again
    thanks

Run Saturday (5k), time and elevation shown. Ran today (half marathon), time shown but no elevation.

Exporting the file from Garmin connect and manually uploading to Strava produces a distance with no time or elevation.

Has anyone heard of a resolution for this? My last four runs have no elevation data. I tried deleting and reloading. Thanks!

I have the same problem, some old files still have elevation gain, some have lost it, and all newly updated files don't have it. Quite frustrating to see it is a problem so old and still not fixed. I hope it will be fixed soon!

Just set up a Strava account and uploaded Garmin Forerunner 10 files that did not show elevation with Garmin Connect. I chose the "upload from file" on Strava and chose the files I needed uploaded right off the Forerunner 10 unit. These were a ".fit file". I did not install the Garmin-Strava Communicator Plugin. I had to upload twice for Strava to calculate the elevation gain. This was recommended by Strava after the first time elevation did not show. Ta-dah! Now I have everything including elevation, pace distance, splits, estimated cal, and graphs all the info frustrated people on this thread are looking for. Problem solved! Since other GPS services can calculate elevation based on route run/biked over topo map, then this problem is is obviously an error with mapping to calculate elevation on the part of Garmin Connect or the Garmin Communicator plugin. Sorry Garmin Connect- goodbye I am headed to Strava!

I have uploaded several (probably 40) runs and have not had elevation gain show up. Previously EG was always being automatically recorded and mapped. I did not change any settings on my watch or on garminconnect. How can I retrieve this information and include it from now on?
    Thanks.
