I just bought a used Nuvi 1450 with a strange problem. When I hook it up in the car with the car adapter, it will turn on and let me select a destination but, after a few moments, the screen reverts to the same screen that comes up in the house when I hook the unit up to a computer with the micro USB cable. (shows the "linked up" icon at the bottom). This is an intermittent problem as the unit sometimes works flawlessly from the beginning to the end of a short trip. Can anyone offer any suggestions?
And, with respect to the above, I also have a Nuvi 1390 with the lifetime travel adapter? Can I use this cable to test the Nuvi 1450 to see if the 1450s cable is the problem? The Nuvi 1450 did not come with Lifetime maps or travel originally.
