Colorado Shuts Down

I have a Colorado 300 with lithium batteries installed. The meter say the batteries are full strength but after a short period the unit shuts off. An independent meter says they are full also. When I replace the batteries with fresh alkalines the unit works fine. Is there something about lithium batteries that can give false meter readings?
Thx,
  • I have had the same issue.  It's really hard to figure.  I use Energizer lithium non-rechargeable batteries in my Garmin GPS.  After a few days they start to show low levels.  When I take them out and leave them alone for a day or so, I check them with a mutti meter and they're back up to full power.  Weird.
