Garmin 78 question

All,

I am new to GPSs and I bought one for kayaking.

I just want to know how I can mark the spot I am launching from so I can find it again in case I get lost.

Can anyone tell me how to do this or point me in the right direction to learn how? The directions are horrible.

Hold down the ENTER key, and it will pop up the "you marked a waypoint" screen where you can choose to save it. If you look right under the enter key on the case, it says "mark".
