Export your course to google maps?

Is it possible to export my course to google maps? I´ve done a course through garmin connect, and I want to view it in google maps. From the way a see it, it shouldn´t be a problem because you use google maps on the site. But I can´t find any tools the can do it.

Grateful for help!:)
  • The website below can convert .FIT files to .KML which can be opened up in Google Earth.

    www.gpsies.com/convert.do

If you want to view the .KML file in Google Maps, you can load the .KML file to a web server / Google Drive / Drop Box and then paste the URL into the Google Maps search box.

If you want to avoid putting the .KML on the web, you can follow the directions in the third answer post here:

You can't export from GC as a .fit AFAIK. On the individual activity page the selection dropdown for "Export" allows you to export ".tcx", ".gpx" and "google earth". What the google earth option gives you, I don't know. Maybe it opens the activity up on google earth and from googl earth you can save as .kml? Try it and let us know.

edit: Okay, I didn't read.... you are asking about courses. No you can't export courses from GC. I think you can only send them to your device. However if you've ridden the course you can export the activity as a .gpx, .tcx or "google earth" which is a .kml file.

    Yep it can be done

    Hello

I have a Garmin 500 and it is easy to download the .fit file. Simply select the course in Garmin connect and send it to you device. Then:

Click on the windows start button at the bottom left of your pc screen
    Click on Computer
    Double click on Garmin
Double click on the garmin folder
    Double click on courses
and there are your fit files.
Just copy and past to your pc
