Multisport Upload

Hello,

I did my first brick multisport activity today, but when I tried to upload my workout to Garmin Connect it wouldn't upload. I can view the activities on my watch just fine. What am I doing wrong? I have the FR 305.

I had this issue in early May...I thought it was something with my GR FR305.
I opened a case...they told me to reset everything and clear out my 305.
I did this and lost my multi-sport workouts.

The problem persisted and I opened another case.
They confirmed it's a bug in GarminConnect and that they're "working on it."
  • +1 on getting this issue resolved ASAP Garmin! I also have a FR 305 and all my multisport workouts for the last 2 months won't upload to Garmin Connect. I've even tried importing them into Garmin Training Center, exporting at as individual files, and doing a manual upload to Garmin Connect w/ no success. Highly disappointing & frustrating as I'm in the midst of triathlon season.

I am also having this issue with the 3 multisport activities I have done this year. The last one I see successful is my triathlon from last year. Even having a known workaround that would be good!
  • Same Issue

I also have the same issue with the FR305. I called Garmin Support and the rep said that this is a known issue. He said they are "working on it". I asked for a date when it might be fixed, as you would expect I got nothing. He did say it was a priority. Frankly, I doubt it. This is a legacy watch. If anything this is better for Garmin as some users might get frustrated and upgrade to the 910XT because they cannot use multisport in the FR305. But, I don't want to be cynical about it and think there is a marketing reason behind this glitch.

I found no workaround other than manually looking at the watch and putting the data into Garmin Connect.

I have the same problem with my FR305. My last successful multisport upload was October 2012. My next mutlisport activity was in April 2013 and I was unable to upload to Garmin Connect. So Garmin made a change to Connect in that timeframe that caused this. Can anyone else help narrow down these dates? Since that time I've accumulated several more multisport activities that are stuck in limbo on my device waiting for Garmin to address this issue. I have also tried all of the manual workarounds with no success.

Does anyone know for sure if this problem is limited to FR305? I'm just wondering if 310XT and 910XT users have the same multisport issues.
  • As far as I could tell talking to support this is only an issue with the FR305 using MultiSport.

  • Hi,

I know you are waiting for Garmin to fix this issue. If you are interested in a workaround to upload your multisport activities, then take a look at the Fit File Repair Tool (http://fitfilerepairtool.info). It enables you to convert your multisport tcx files in multisport fit files and save them on your computer or upload them to Garmin Connect directly with an integrated File Uploader. The tool requires a Windows based PC. If you like the tool and would like to get a license then send me an email (mathias.krallmann<a>freenet.de>, mention "multisport upload problem" as reason for buying the tool and you will get the tool for 19.90 € (US-$ 25) instead for 39 € (US-$ 49) - I will keep up this special offer until August 31.

    Best regards

    Mathias
