I have previously used two Garmin GPS products, a Nüvi 1250 I've been regularly using for almost three years and while in the US last year I used a Nüvi 40.
Both had a good display for reading during the daytime. A green band across the top with some information in it, roads are in a yellowy colour or red, sometimes outlined and white, the route in pink. All good discernable stuff in the daylight up on the dash of the car. The distance/time/altitude is black on white, as is the speed except when it's red on white, neatly encapsulated in a black border on white.
It's not like that with the Nüvi 52 LM. The top band is grey with white lettering, it's difficult to read at some times, impossible most of the time in the daylight. The same applies to the distance to the next turn display. When it's switched to maximum information mode that stuff is black on grey, mostly visible, but still not perfect.
I see the term 'change colours' when I go to various options, but I cannot find how to do it. Does anyone know how I can get the more readable colours up on the screen?
This is the very reason I never use the Navig8or I bought a couple of years ago, it's impossible to read in the daylight.
It's important when driving (I don't think I really need to add...) that when information is sought it's visible enough for quick reading. That's what I want.
