Oregon 450t - uploads to connect by manual upload

I use an Oregon 450t for everything. Biking now, I use the Garmin Cadence sensor and also an HRM for all my rides. When I upload to Garmin Connect, I must upload in the manual mode where I select the "current.gpx" file in order for my cadence and HRM to show. All this works fine.

THE PROBLEM
After I upload my activity, I edit it adding a title, etc.
Now, the next time I upload my next activity like the next day, the previous activities also upload and so I have to go through garmin connect and delete them as they are duplicates...it doesn't upload the latest but uploads like 20 or 25 activities even though I have uploaded them all before...I tried erasing the "current.gpx" file to get rid of old activities but that didn't seem to work.

Anybody know a solution and what I need to delete so the previous activities don't upload along with my current one?

    In your Oregon

Track Manager -> Current Track -> Clear Current Track

You could set the Oregon to automatically archive the track. I think you can set it to do this daily.
Then it will automatically save the track to a GPX file, and clear the current track. The archived tracks will be saved in the Garmin\GPX\Archive folder.

That's another option. I was going to mention it but the OP is saving stuff to Garmin Connect so I'm not sure archiving tracks is useful.

I have archived tracks before and save them. Especially a few cycling routes that I do over and over again and long rides like a double century which is easy to follow the track in the navigation map view. My track is set now to record AUTO, so if I switch it to DAILY, then, when I start my ride, I reset the trip, when I finish the ride I clear(stop) the trip again so I have those 2 points. And since the track is set now to DAILY it will create an archive of that activity? I'll try it. The main reason I do not use the automatic upload is so that my cadence and HRM will show.
