I am unable to upload some data from FR 305 to Garmin connect, error is: "one of your files was not accepted by the system". Started happening to all multi-sport activities and some non multi-sport activities. Worked correctly uploading to garmin connect for several years, even multi-sport activities. I am able to upload data to www.strava.com but not garmin connect. Why? I've heard of issues with corrupt .fit files, but I don't think the FR 305 has .fit files. I downloaded the exported gpx file from strava and then uploaded that to garmin connect but the lap data isn't there - it is in strava. I tried to use the "Fit File Repair Tool" but that doesn't work on gpx data. Why would this start happening now and seems to now happen 100% of the time in "multi-sport" mode? I've sent twitter messages to garmin connect with no response. I find it hard to believe I have bad data on my 305 when strava can read it and it only happens occasionally.
BTW, I have entirely deleted all activities and it still didn't work. I also reset the device and that didn't work either.
Just guessing here. Can you run WebUpdater and reinstall the firmware? That will not fix the current file but maybe it will fix the 305 so it works correctly again on future tracks.
Another update. I can also upload data to Garmin Training Center and TrainingPeaks, no issues. Garmin Training Center allows me to export .tcx files so I can get lap information. I noticed in Garmin TC that on the first event of a multisport event, when exported to .tcx, the file contains all 3 individual events of the multisport - all the laps from all the events are in one file. Very weird. I'm thinking this issue is totally with Garmin Connect not being able to parse the first event in a multisport and can't break up all the events that make up the multisport event. Garmin Support can you weigh in on this?
New update after calling support. There is an issue with GC and multisport events, I suggest calling in to support so they understand the urgency of this issue. The person I spoke to was very polite and nice but said there currently is no ETA to resolve the issue.
Same issue, all multisport events fail to upload. Very irritating as the Forerunner 305 is by essence a multisport device. Support, please give this some attention!!!
One last gripe/complaint and then I'll let this drop since there is a known bug at it's being worked on by Garmin. With so many devices focused on training and race events how does something like multisport functionality slip through quality assurance testing? Garmin, you really dropped the ball on that and I hope you don't lose too many multisport athletes to timex/nike/polar compatible systems.
I've just found this thread having had same error this morning after a cycle and run. All on the FR305, but it won't upload. Garmin Support! Please help.
Same Problem!!! Garmin won't upload my multi sport activity. Why is it taking Garmin so long to fix this problem??? Looks like I will be switching to a different website and watch.
FYI multisport downloads on Strava. It doesn't show transitions, but it has everything else.
