HRM stops working after a few miles!!

I hope someone can help me with this, sooo frustrating! I head out for my run, everything is fine and dandy, then for no reason at all the HRM goes all strange. This morning, my HR zones were set for an easy run, all was well until about 4 miles then my HR starting dropping dramatically! 101-then 89 then down to 44bpm!! It is annoying as I am not getting a full session in using it. Can anyone help. I already had to tighten the belt by about 3 inches as it was too loose. I use the conductive gel every time as well.
Thank you
Julie

Done that and it fixed issue? Or, done that and still have issue?

I've seen several runners lately that wear their strap almost at the bottom of their rib cage. I keep wanting to stop them and ask if they are really getting a HR signal. I'm a guy and I wear mine about one finger width below my nipples. Never had an issue with it. Nor do I do anything special with grease and such--Except maybe on a cool dry day, I'll moisten my skin underneath before I start.

So experimenting with the position of the strap might be worth while. If it's still not working well, then get with Garmin Support or whoever the maker is before your warranty runs out.

This forum is just users, so don't expect Garmin to help you from here. Every great once in a blue moon someone identifying themselves as Garmin does step in here, but it's rare.
