Hey everyone,
I have a question about the method GC uses to calculate the 'Moving Time' detail.
I understand what this detail is meant to reflect however my problem is as follows (it's not a huge problem but I'm interested in the workaround/fix and could be useful for future runs).
I ran with a friend last week who used his Garmin 610 watch. After he uploaded the activity to his profile I exported it as a TCX file, and then uploaded it to my profile.
As expected we have a matching time of 26:00min but our moving times are different. His is 25:53, and mine is 26:33.
What I think has happened is that he could have a setting on his 610 that counts speeds below a certain distance as not moving (is it the AutoPause?) but is this option reflected in the TCX file?
Looking at our split times on Connect I can see that for the 'Moving Time' my activity is counting the parts of the run where we were going up and down stairs (hence moving very slowly). But his are somehow excluding them, although we're using the same TCX file?
Is there something I can alter in the file, or something extra on my connect profile that I can change to alter this? Or is there just additional information that is loaded from the 610 directly that can't be gained from exporting and re-importing an activity. It was my understanding that this 'Moving Time' is calculated on GC rather than something to do with the recorded GPS readings.
Thanks for any help in advance.
Mark
