GPSMap 60CSx Users unite!

I've upload to Connect from my 60CSX using Communicator for a long time. Up until a few weeks ago the "Upload all new activity" feature worked, making it very easy. That feature no longer works, but there is a workaround: Set the device to ALSO record all activity to the microSD card, then use the Manual upload to upload the activities one by one directly from the card.

I've been complaining to Customer support to get the "Upload all new activity" feature working again. They are saying their hands are tied because the device is no longer on the Connect list of supported devices. They suggested I submit my request for restoration as an "Idea" at http://www8.garmin.com/contactUs/ideas/. I have done so and would appreciate it if all other 60CSx users would do the same. This is a suggestion from Customer Support.
  • Just want to let the forum know that it's working for me now. I had been letting the activities accumulate on the device main memory since I have been uploading manually from the microSD card. I decided to remove all activities from main memory. Lo and behold, after my next hike I tried the Connect Upload All New activities and it worked! At this point I don't know if Garmin fixed Connect, or perhaps failure has to do with too much memory usage on the device. If anyone else has experienced this I'd like to know.

How do have the Track Log configured? The Track Log (main memory as you call it) can only contain 10,000 points. It can be set to stop recording when full or wrap (overwrite old data).

Tracks page -> Setup -> Wrap When Full (tickbox)

Saving Tracks to card gets around the above limitation.

PS: Garmin has multiple names for the same thing. Tracks for outdoor devices, Trip Logs for automotive models and Activities for fitness devices. Essentially they're all the same--a record of time, position and with some devices other data (heart-rate, temperature etc).
