Problem With Nuvi 2475 Finding Obvious Small Cities and Villages

Ok, its probably something about the way I input the places and I am used to doing things the Tom Tom way but for some reason my 2475 just won't locate common places. A few weeks ago I had to find a place on RT 2 Grand Isle, Vermont and yesterday I couldn't find Ausable or Ausable Forks NY. Both are small but still have been there well over 100 years. I dialed up the Vermont address on my ancient Tom Tom and yesterdays NY address on my Verizon cell quickly. Perhaps it's the way Garmin has me putting in the "Go To Address " . Everything else works fine so what am I doing wrong????
