Maps Not Showing - Need some help

Hope some one can help me with this problem. Symptoms have only shown up recently....this used to work fine on my Mac

I have used Connect for some time and this has only recently become an issue with both new activities and old activities where I know I used to be able to view the map. Im on Mac OSX.

To summarise
I used to be able but no longer can see the "map" with activity route for any completed activities on the following screens....

* Dashboard
* Analyze - Details
* Explore - Activities and Courses

Weird thing is that the map in Analyze - Player seems to work ok

When I go to "Dashboard".... I just get the endlessly spinning wheel/ring with no data on the map
When I go to Analyze - Details.... I just get a blank map (no spinning ring)
When I go to Explore.... I just get a blank map (no spinning ring)

On above, I click on, but there is no apparent reaction of the map control buttons (+-, Bing, Map and Layers)

Again, map seems to work OK in Analyze - Player

I also have the same issues when I look at activity feeds of friends with whom I'm "connected"

Anyone know what the problem is and how to fix? I did a forum search and I could see some similar questions which did not have any replies

  • I occasionally have issues too with my macbook (leopard) and Safari. Not exclusive to this website though. Seems to go into endless waits for stuff to load. Usually it'll work great for days, then I'll have fits for part of a day. When it's happening, I can usually force quit Safari and use Chrome successfully but not always. I don't get any of those issues on my PC's with win7, firefox or chrome, but they have their moment with other things.

    I just tried on Windows PC and IE and I see the same issue, so I do not think this is a Mac V PC issue and I tried to different browsers, IE and Safari

    Note... I have many activities I used to be able to see on either platform.....but cannot see map now for old or newly uploaded activities

    To expand a little on the spinning ring issue in dashboard and the map.... it has the word "loading" in the grey box with the spinning ring (Mac Windows... both see the same thing

    I also noticed same issue when looking at activities via the calendar.... no map with route.

    I use WinXP and Chrome.
    I cannot use IE-8 anymore with Garmin Connect. I get the endless spinning wheel and a warning "Unsupported Browser".
    Have you tried Google Chrome?

    Problem resolved.
    I contacted Garmin Support in Australia and got their reply below. I guess there was a problem on their server and web hosting side. Their website has "come good" today. Im not sure if this was a unique issue to Australia and proxy servers etc, but is working now

    "We are having web issues at the moment, we have forwarded this to head office in the US and are awaiting their confirmation that the problem has been resolved.

    All I can do is ask for is that you please try again at a later time and date."
