Can't connect my Oregon 450 to my computer (basecamp)

Help!

When I plug my 450 into my computer, it turns on, then flashes a
message so quickly I can't read it then it turns off. I guess I must have changed a setup parameter somewhere but I can't think of where. It was working fine not long ago.
  • If you have a SD-card with maps in the device, try removing it. Had this problem once, when the map data on the card became corrupted.
Then try formatting the SD-card an re-install the maps on the card.

After you plug it in and it turns off, leave it plugged in and press and hold the power button. After 30 seconds of holding the power button, it should force itself into mass storage, and you can pull off any new GPX files (for example) and see if that solves the problem.

Same problem ..I removed SD card and connected to PC... then ejected GPS device , reinserted SD card and tried again--this time it worked. Garmin software has always been buggy ..apparently it's not a Garmin priority so these types of workarounds are pretty routine.
