Time vs. Moving time

What's the difference between these 2 (Elapsed time is clear) but I can't fathom it out?
  • If you ever do a bike ride and pause at stops, the elapsed time is the total time of the ride, but the time is just the time the timer kept going. However, there are runs/rides I've done where I never stop and I still get a slightly different time vs elapsed time so my theory is there are small gaps where the gps lost satellite contact and it looks like a pause to GC.

On the Connect site it gives 3 "times" - elapsed time being time difference between pressing start & then pressing stop at end of ride, as far as I know - so includes any stops you make
My query was about "time" & "moving time" which are the other 2 times it gives. I ask 'cos I did a ride the other day where my moving time shows as 5hr 25min approx and time shows as 5hr 35 min approx. Elapsed time was 6hr 14 min approx, & I can't figure what the diff between the 5hr 25 & 5hr 35 is down to - not seen this sort of difference before, so I've never bothered trying to figure it out!
