Running Average Pace/Speed column in Garmin Connect Activities

Dear Garmin,

As I have my Forerunner set to lap every K, when looking back at my runs I know my pace for any given K - what I don't know is my speed.

I have my forerunner 305 set to speed so I can check my speed in real time and on the device itself when I look back at each run I can see my average speed in each split, but........

In Garmin Connect activities all my runs have diverted to average pace without any way of reverting to speed.

The same is true when I look at my splits in any given activity - I used to be able to see average speed, now I can only see average pace, which is, of course, exactly the same as my lap time and therefore pointless.

Is there anyway I can get my speed reporting functions back?

All the best

  • If you look at the Details tab for an activity, next to the Timing area, there is a Pace/Speed option. This will cause the average/max values displayed update, and the timing chart will be updated as well. I don't see any way for you to get the splits to change to speed. If you have pace (min/mi) you can get speed (mi/hr) with a simple divide... given a pace of 7min/mi, 60 / 7 = 8.57 mi/hr.
