Garmin Connect Mobile Connection issue

Hi
Being UK based I recently bought a new toy the Garmin 510 to give me lots of data on my training rides, I was impressed by the fact that if I had a smartphone I could let my family track my rides and know where I was at most times. So I bought a smartphone. Its a Samsung Galaxy S 2 and I run it on the O2 network, so far so good. Now the problem!
When I connect my Samsung Galaxy S2 to my device Garmin 510 cycle GPS, when at home using my home wifi network. Garmin mobile will let me sign in and run a tracked ride that my family and friends can monitor online via invite. Ok not much of a track in the house I grant you but its a bench test to see how the tracking works and how one invites followers etc. All worked just fine and my invitees could track just fine. However when using my standard phones internet service connection the Garmin mobile system will not let me sign in, it brings up a network problem message and will go no further. As mentioned the phone uses internet via 02. I have checked all other apps etc on my phone using the same phone based data/internet connection and they all work just fine. It is only my Garmin connection mobile app that refuses to work. Anybody come across this issue or anybody got any thoughts or advice for me please.
