What's a good alternative to the, now impractical, new Garmin Connect Calendar?

Like many people the new Garmin Connect Calendar has made it to difficult for me to effectively use.

The lack of detail shown for past activities including the lack of a different background color for each type of activity has meant I can no longer effectively see, at a glance, where I'm at with my training.

Plus many other issues that people have outline in theses threads:

https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?36221-Really-Unhappy-with-New-Calendar-sort-it-out-Garmin!!

So I'm looking at alternatives:Anyone got recommendations on a website or application/program that has a good calendar; that was like Garmin's old one?

Thanks

  • While I agree not all change is necessarily good change, it's not hard to see at a glance even with my old eyes:

As an alternative this one is coming along nicely...but it won't be free:

I do wish they'd pay more attention to functionality than display though. When will we be able to load scheduled workouts into our devices, instead of just dumping them in?
  • Take a look here for an review I wrote a while back of the various options online:

  • Take a look at Addaero Solo - addaero.com - Full disclosure I am one of the founders of Addaero. Addaero connects to GarminConnect and is a an easy and in-expensive way to plan, track, and analyze your training. GC has some nice features but we feel it has some limitations. We are working to add new features that will continue to improve the user experience.

I looked at the site but I couldn't find answers to my questions. If you could answer them I would appreciate it.

Garmin Connect is a step backwards from GTC for me. There are two key things that I can no longer do that make my "upgrade" to the Garmin 620 from the 405 a waste of $450. These two things are:
    1) Import a custom workout plan into the 620. Originally I used a plan purchased from TrainingPeaks and uploaded to the 405 via Garmin Training Center. Garmin Connect does not allow you to upload a scheduled plan. You can only manually enter individual custom workouts. And the 620 malfunctions when I try this.
    2) Have custom zones based on running pace and not heart rate. Garmin Connect only has heart rate based zones.

If addaero.com can do those two things, I will sign up today.

    thanks
