Nuvi 855 responsiveness

Nuvi 855 at times is slow to show correct vehicle position on map. When this happens I have passed road to be turned on. Also in GoTo, POI, Spell Name Nuvi hangs for a few seconds after typeing the first letter. After 2nd letter typed and displayed works OK. Nuvi storage total is 3.48 GB total, 2.88 GB used and 611 mb free. Could the limited amount of free space be causing these problems? If so what files can be deleted to free up storage space.

I don't think it is related to free space. I have seen the typing lag you describe on my 855 and I have all my maps on SD card so there is over 2 GB of free space on the internal storage volume. Files that can be deleted are voice files for unused languages in the \Garmin\Voice folder and vehicle files in the \Garmin\Vehicle folder. You can also delete the files for unused languages in the \Garmin\ASR folder and the \Garmin\Help folder.

The slow display refresh for showing position can be caused if you have a high concentration of Custom POI's with alerts. In general I do not have this problem with my 855, but have observed it in some situations.
