It's great that OpenStreetMap now is present for use in Garmin Connect/myGarmin. But since OpenStreetMap also contains OpenCycleMap I don't see why Garmin does not use this one. Must even say it will be a must. There are no open maps in the world as good as OpenCycleMap for detailed trail/terrain usage. Just compare for your selves. Now, using OpenStreetMap I'm not able to see detailed terrain features to evaluate or plan my runs in the forrest or my hikes in the mountains.
This can't be anything else but an easy fix for you at Garmin and a blessing for thousands of runners and hikers all over the world. As it is now, I don't see why I should leave my iPhone with the Viewranger App at home, or use it for planning etc. Except it's a *** of a double use.
Garmin Connect/myGarmin could be complete in a blink of an eye.
Best wishes,
