Just how are we to be using waypoints with the GPSMAP 62s? i have a Magellan Meridian Gold where i can save the relevant waypoints to a file and then recall that waypoint file up and only use those waypoints in the GPS. One example: I'm in Area A and roaming around i have created say 10 waypoints - i save the 10 waypoints to a file called Area A.wpt and whenever i'm near or at Area A again i can recall the Area A waypoints.
With the 62s every waypoint in the unit is loaded into the map - won't that slow the unit down and also clutter the map?
Am i missing better workflow with the 62s?
I wonder people with serious travelling deal with this waypoint issue in the 62s. Another example - say u are in New york and have created 50 waypoints - then flew to Paris and created 100 french waypoints.....u now have 150 waypoints loaded in the system! Can waypoints be like tracks where u can choose which ones are visible/active?
