Windows 8 + Google Chrome = Garmin Connect not working properly

Ever since the last upgrade on the Garmin Connect website my GC has stopped showing maps, charts and all ride details except for summary data when using google chrome.
The funny thing is that is works just fine on Firefox.

I hope someone has a solution to this or that Garmin is working on one.

Here's a screenshot of what it looks like:

    +1..... Same here!:(
  • Same here on Win 8 and Chrome.
IE seems to be working ok.

So I wrote to Garmin to get help on the issue and I got the most ignorant response from someone in their sales & marketing in Asia telling me that issue is due to me not uploading my activities frequently enough and my device may have run out of space, i.e. recording only summary data now. They obviously didn't read my email as I had specifically stated that I upload them regularly. Anyway on further clarification I was told that some browser's have issues because of interference from Add-ons. Once again this they addressed the topic for both IE & Firefox but not for the issue which was with Chrome :(

Have written to them again. Hoping they get back with a solution this time.

    Okay.
So I found the solution. And after doing so am feeling pretty stupid about the entire problem.

The issue is not with GC but with Google Chrome recognizing the page as having insecure content.
Just click on the shield icon appearing in the address bar and click load anyway....it should then work.
  • Very easy fix. Thanks for sharing.

  • I see no shield icon. This is really irritating.
