Find Functionality

Doing a long extended trip using waypoints as the references that I am navigating with on my Map62s.

I have over 22,000 waypoints organised by type - Free Camping, Overnight Rest Stops, Low Cost stops, etc for the 4 year trip with our camper van. These are split into the States of Australia and I load them by State.

Find needs to have the option to alternatively ask for the intended direction of travel and then only present the way points within a 90 degree quadrant of that direction.

Currently one has to sift through a huge amount of meaningless waypoints for all 360 degrees to try and get only the points that may have any interest.
  • Further suggestions, observations, requests from the ongoing use of a Map62S for a long term tour of a large country.

I have discovered the ability to move the cursor to another place of interest and then do a find for what is around that location, that is very handy.

However at times its not the most convenient way of finding things. I would still like the Find Function to have the option to ask for a general direction - N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W, NW and only display waypoints within a 90 degree arc centred on on those 8 directions.

The Find Cities Function is also rather restrictive in that it it only shows cities/towns out to a radius of 40km - again in all directions of the compass.

At times it would be very helpfull if the Find Cities Function also allowed the user to just enter the City Name. The only way to try and find a city outside the 40km circle is to have to use the Find Address Function which is not at all friendly when you don't have any idea of any streets in a "distant" town.

Scrolling through lists. - When you Find something the scroll function starts from the closest in you have to work your way out one by one. It would be great if the Up Arrow on the first (closest) waypoint or city took you immediately to the last point.
