Elevation Graph for cycling activities showing -200m in elevation

Hi everyone.
Even with no negative elevations (ie below sea level I guess) my elevation chart for my cycling activities (posted from Edge 500) on Garmin Connect now show -200 metres on the Y axis, which compresses the overall graph size.
Has anyone else had this problem, and I can't see any way to change the Y axis scale??

Thank you for any help.

Also, my time always shows "Papua New Guinea Time" and not Brisbane Australia. Can this be fixed anyway?

Again, thanks for any help :)

    Hello Richard,

The graphing on GC cannot be adjusted. It can only use the elevations found in your track file.

The Fit File Repair Tool can solve both of your problems as well as repair any file corruption that seems to plague us from time to time.
The Tool has a tab "Devices, File Info & Specials" that has special functions that will :
Change all the timestamps to whatever you want.
Recalc all speed values after editing out stuff.
Correct all elevations using map topo from MapQuest. I have done it and it matched very well to Garmin 24KTopo Maps in California.
    Correct or add temperture.
    And some other functions.

Also....the time shown in GC for your track is based on the time zone setting in your computer.
Papua and Brisbane are both in the same zone according to Google, GMT+10.

Its not a problem with the GPS track.
Its just the way that Garmin Connect draws the graph. It seems it often starts the graph from a negative number, even if all of the elevations are well above zero.

You can zoom in on part of the graph by dragging with the mouse to draw a box. So you can zoom in on the part of the graph above zero, to fix the y axis. But this won't be saved, it will reset to the default the next time you view that activity.
  • Considering how the graph has to fit within the space allotted, adding the additional range on the y axis helps smooth out the graph as the y axis is 1/1000 of the x axis (meters vs. kilometers). I'd rather look at the smoother graph as opposed to one that spikes over the extremes. And when I need the detail, then I can just hover the pointer over the point in question, or drag a select box out as previously mentioned to get the exact stats.
