I'm pretty sure that all Garmin accounts (myGarmin, this forum and ordering) are linked. Also I think you can only choose a username (handle) upon initial account creation. As for who to contact I don't know. I'm always amazed that people use their email address as a username. They must like spam :D

True, but it's not always obvious when a user name is going to be made public although I'd expect that when joining a forum. However, I've joined several forums recently where you have a user name, but immediately after joining are ask if you want to use an alias for display in the forums. Many people now use their email address as a username, as they don't have to remember umpteen dozen different usernames as every time they join something new their previous uid has already been taken by someone else on the new site.
