Nuvi 1450LMT Photos Black

I don't know why this started all of a sudden but after updating maps and other items today recommended by Garmin, I can't see my photos anymore. I want to attach photos to my saved favourites but can't see them.

They appear to be there because when I scroll down the Picture Viewer, although everything is black, it seems to be moving through the grid list. Also, if I try to assign a .jpg file to a favourite, it just attaches the black image. For some reason the photos aren't view-able. Can someone tell me how to fix this or what causes it.

I've tried saving the photos to both the Garmin unit and the SD Card and both yield the same result.

Thanks for any help with this.
  • If you've done a software update and something isn't working as it should the first thing to try is a master reset. See if that solves the problem.

The procedure is outlined in this Garmin FAQ:

Thanks for the reply but sadly that did not work. I tried the master reset and it didn't really do much of anything to help. I've downloaded Garmin Express and am trying some updates with that but I don't have much hope for success. It isn't a huge deal if I can't see photos but it stinks knowing this feature should be available to me and doesn't work. I've hardly even used the GPS since I bought it a couple years ago so it certainly hasn't been abused. Just regular updates 2 or 3 times a year.

I should also add that the reset was supposed to wipe out my favourites I read but that didn't happen. The all appear to still be visible.
  • Sometimes favourites aren't erased. More often than not this is because they've been sent to the GPS by something like Basecamp. This sends a file called temp.gpx to the GPS which is then copied when the GPS boots into favourites. If that file is not deleted then after a master reset temp.gpx is again copied, so the 'favourites' appear to remain.

Thanks. My original issue still exists.
