It doesn't seem to be working for me, either. I try searching my home town, where I have several hundred runs logged on Garmin Connect, and I see no runs listed. I suspect I'm doing something wrong but, so far, I'm getting nada.
It sounds like you have to have a certain level of activity in areas before they show up. Which pretty much means that my small town in Illinois will never get a heatmap to be shown. I kinda wish they'd give you the option to do a heatmap of your own routes if there isn't enough data from other runners.
Is there someone that could give me some locations on earth where I could check this how it looks like..
That would be great, thanks!
edit: found it thanks to the replies earlier in this topic.. will my place will be added to this, I'm running twice a week but I'm the only one in my town that runs..
To see the heat map, you go to "Explore" - "Activities, then need to switch to Google maps (next to the + - buttons), and select "heat map" in the layers button (button on the very right of this row of buttons).
What would be good is a heat map of the runs I've completed round the country, plus over the pond in the US. I've seen them from friends on Strava, but can't find anything on Garmin. Unless I'm just looking in the wrong places?
