Editing Settings via PC.

I recently had to do a full reset on an edge 500. I backed up the files F:\Garmin\Settings\Settings.fit, and F:\Garmin\Sports\Cycling.fit, then copied them back. All fine and good, but it got me wondering if there is a program that lets you edit these .fit files from a desktop, rather than scrolling through all the menus on the device.

Edit

I tried copying them to mycomputer, changing the extension to .txt, but they are not text files.

My 705 has those same profile files in tcx format that can be opened in a text editor like WordPad. The problem is figuring out the format and putting the correct number in the correct spot. It is actually more trouble than using the device to enter my settings and profile info.

So my answer to you is, I am sure that there are programs that will edit fit files but they might be more trouble than they are worth.
