Garmin says I'm moving, but I am standing still.

I have a Garmin 500 Red, and when I power it on and it gets set up and the screen pops up, It says I am moving at .1 up to .6mph. If I am standing still, why does it say I am moving.

Any thoughts?

Even in a perfect receiver, GPS position and velocity sensing is subject to uncertainty due to variations in visible satellite geometry as well as intentional and unintentional data signal degradation. Do a web search on GPS technology and selective availability.

In a nutshell, there's nothing wrong with your Edge. If you want your speed to be recorded more accurately, you need to use a wheel speed sensor such as the GSC-10 in addition to the Edge.

Mine only recently started doing this. Plus, it's showed lower speeds one day and higher speeds the next. So far re-entering the wheel size and reconnecting the speed/cad sensor helped. Now it won't show cadence! I know the sensor and magnets are right. I've checked with the red/green light on the sensor.

I'd go into the setup and un-pair then re-pair the cadence sensor. I had a similar thing after changing the battery on my gsc10 once.
