Weather

The new weather addition to GarminConnect is great. I really appreciate the addition. However, it almost always picks up a weather station that about 100 miles SE from where I run (KNHK), so inevitably the weather is a bit off because of that. When I begin my run at a slight different location less than a mile from where I usually begin, then it picks up a better station (KDCA). Not sure if there's any way to improve which station it picks, but the ability to overide and pick my own would be a welcome feature if it can't be improved.

Thanks!

Agreed. I have the same issue in Southwest Michigan.

    +1

The station I get is about 50 miles SSE and about 1100' lower in elevation. For several years now after each ride I hit my local weather station and add weather to my ride notes. Would be awesome if I could get some weather that were actually relevant to my ride so I didn't need to do this anymore.

Love the idea. It's almost there.
  • I like seeing the weather conditions in my outdoor running history. I have a question, and a possible suggestion:

Question:  During a long run, weather conditions can change significantly. Are the weather conditions shown for the beginning, the middle, or the end of my run? Or is it some sort of average?

If the answer is that conditions reflect the beginning or end of  my run,  my suggestion is to show both.

  • If you go to the weather widget on your watch, and press the GPS button (or the respecitve button used for confirming on your watch, if it does not have the GPS button), you will get a screen with an hourly forecast, and when you scroll down, there is another screen with the daily forecast.
