Garmin connect calendar sync

I'm sure this has already been asked but is there any way to sync the Garmin Connect Calendar with Google calendar or any other calendars ? I put in a training plan and if I don't keep an eye on the Garmin connect calendar OR the watch, I don't know what to expect in advance.

Thanks
Cheers.

Hi, Bob. I was not able to transfer my Garmin calendar to my 920Xt. How did you do that? Can you describe a step by step? By the way, I can sync my calendar to Apple calendar without any issues.

Sure. I assume you have read message #35 above that describes how to publish your calendar. Doing that same step but select "Send Workouts to Device". The website then asks which device with a pull down menu. I selected the default 920XT which was loaded in the charge/sync cable.

The website communicated the workout to Garmin Express (took just a couple of seconds, there was an counter overlay on the device sync icon on the left side of the Connect webpage). When the counter overlay disappeared, I initiated a sync in Garmin Express (I don't know if this was needed but I did it anyway). I then removed the 920xt from the charge/sync cable. I saw something on the watch screen telling me the watch is updating or something (I don't remember exactly what it said and I'm currently away so I can't tell you). That lasted for a few seconds and the watch now holds the training schedule in the watch's training calendar.

    Does that help?

I try to transfer Garmin Calendar to Outlook. I was very successful, but only a small part of my calendar events were transferred: only January, although I have a training plan until April. Who knows what I did wrong? How can I transfer the whole calendar ?

  • You can't. The calendar that Garmin publishes only includes 30 days of data.

I sure wish I knew this before spending like 5 hours of my life importing and deleting and trying different ways to edit the dates in notepad. Do you know why this is? I mean, why tease us?
  • Hi and thanks everybody. I'll explain how it worked for me in case it helps anybody. I was getting the same error mentioned above when trying to use the public link, so I just pasted that link (the one you get from garmin calendar when clicking in 'publish calendar') into a new browser tab, and it turned out that it downloaded an .ical file, so I got back to google calendar and just import a new calendar as an ical file.

As someone said before too, it only brought thirty days from today, but it's something
  • Additional tip: create a new calendar in your google account just for the training plan, and import the ical file to this new calendar. I will avoid you to delete or modify the event one by one in case you modify something in your training plan. If that happens, it will require just to delete the whole calendar and repeat the process, quicker than going event by event
  • I don't understand the need to play around with ICAL export import - if you publish the calendar and subscribe to the published url in your google calendar or outlook or native android calendar. If you do that then any changes you make in connect will automatically be picked up by all the calendars that you have added the url to
  • Well, the fact was that subscribing to the published url was not working for some people, me among them. I provided another solution in case that happens
  • Wasn't criticising you for providing a useful workaround - just pointing out to people that the only way to get an autorefresh is by subscribing to the url - which I realise wasn't working for some people. I believe that the url issues have now gone away.
