Garmin connect calendar sync

I'm sure this has already been asked but is there any way to sync the Garmin Connect Calendar with Google calendar or any other calendars ? I put in a training plan and if I don't keep an eye on the Garmin connect calendar OR the watch, I don't know what to expect in advance.

Thanks
Cheers.

    same here...
my workouts only show till 27th feb.

i tried both versions (download and import via URL)... same result...

I, as every one else, have the same issue.

    Tested:
Import via link, only 30 days and it does not beeing exported as correct time stamp, its imported as an all day event
Downloaded as isc and tested as ical, no go with same result, all day event.

Since the garmin app does not connected with the calender online, you will always have to check with the webpage, or even print out the web page....

    Edit:
    From the ics file:

    BEGIN:VCALENDAR
    PRODID:-//Garmin Connect//ICalProvider 1.0//EN
    VERSION:2.0
    CALSCALE:GREGORIAN
    BEGIN:VEVENT
    DTSTAMP:20140210T141304Z
    DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20140216
    SUMMARY:W01D1-Recovery Run
    DESCRIPTION:• Run in Z2\, recovery pace\, 40 minutes.\n • Cool down\, 5 t
    o 10 minutes.\n • Stretch.
    UID:[email protected]
    END:VEVENT

There is no time stamp, so the export from Garmin is bad.
    Lines lik this is missing
    TZOFFSETFROM:+0200
    TZOFFSETTO:+0100
  • If you have a look at the Whats New Section on Garmin Connect you will see that publishing the Cal on works for 30 days. As bellow.

    June 2013
    •Calendar Publishing
You can now publish the next 30 days of your Garmin Connect calendar and pull it into a calendar application such as Outlook or a web calendar such as Google Calendar. Look for the export icon in the top right corner of the calendar to get the link for your calendar.

    Hi CRAIGSAM,

Yes, I know, but you would guess that they could fix a time stamp?
It would be nice to have the activity that I have added in the calender to be in real time.
I.e. when you add an 30 min running activity, it does not need to be an all day event ;), but it should book as an 30 min meeting or something?

Ping. Anyone get this to work properly?

I'm looking for a way to share my calendar view (historical data workouts & activities) with someone. Another easy way to achieve this would be through a link similar to a "connections" link where people can publically view your calendar:

They already provide the data in a shared format for "connections": http://connect.garmin.com/profile/USERNAME

Why not just extend your current user calendar view to be publically available. Something like this would be super useful:

    http://connect.garmin.com/profile/USERNAME/calendar
  • What "box below"?

    Guys,

I was getting the same error as all of you saying that "garmin link provides bad iCal or Gdata calendar data."

You just need to tick the box below making it public and it works perfectly :)

    Cheers,

    Eduardo

I have been trying to organize a fitness challenge that requires members to share their calendars with the program administrator. As many of you have said, the "publish calendar" function does not work. I appreciate the thought, Eduardo, if there were a box below the calendar that said "make public". I don't see any such box however.

I have called Garmin twice on this: One time, the guy told me it worked fine and that it must have been my network filter. I shared my calendar URL with the next person who could not get it to work. She said she would have someone from tech support contact me. That was about a week ago.

C'mon Garmin. Stop dropping the ball on this one. At least admit that it doesn't work and then try to fix it. It looks like this nonsense has been going on since you released the function in July 2013.

Indeed following this thread leaves me sitting with 30 days of the calender and that is it. Hoping Garmin can fix. Does Strava do a better job?

Hm. I'm getting the only-thirty-day calendar sync. I wonder what the difference is between what MCADAVID66 and MARKSIT did and what I'm doing. I mean, the events from my training plan are there, but I only get a month of it. My plan (16wk half-marathon) starts tomorrow 27May14 and ends 15Sept14, but the events in my Google calendar end 25June14. Do I need to re-sync on that date, and each successive month until the plan is complete? That seems like a sub-optimal solution.

  • nothing showing up for me

I have tried several times even making it so the training starts tomorrow but i can get anything to show up in google calendar
