Help request with GPSMap62st

Hi - recently got this GPSMap62 st after more than a decade with an old Magellan. In general well pleased but need some help. (Hope I'm posting in right section apologies if a bit OT)

1) I would really like to easily display a UK OS Grid Reference for current location. This was a default screen on the Magellan and I can't for the life of me figure out how to get this displayed on the GPSMap62. Guess this is probably a rookie question, but any help gratefully received.

2) Under 'set-up' one option is 'Temperature'. Does the 62 display/record temperature and if so how to I get that to show?

If you haven't yet downloaded the manual it's at http://www8.garmin.com/manuals/GPSMAP62_OwnersManual.pdf

You can show BNG by going to Set Up, Position Format

Don't believe it will measure ambient temperature, that setting requires an additional device and is aimed at marine use AFAIK.

Thanks, I'll have a go - appreciate yr help. (Have the manual but think it's the weakest part of the whole gig to be honest!)

Anyone know about the temperature thing?

Yup Talkytoaster is a goody - thanks again. Bought the GPSMap (unused 2nd hand) bundled with full 1:50K.

There isn't a temperature sensor built in. If you want temperature, you can buy a Garmin Tempe, which is a wireless temperature sensor.

I know this is an older thread, but, when the Tempe is used, does the data get logged in the track file for later use?

I am interested in the Tempe but don't really want to be looking at the sensor and recording data.

Yes. I do it with my Oregon 450. If you import the track data into BaseCamp you can view the temperature data in the log (as data and in a graph).
