Ok....
1: Garmin 2595mlt will not be recognized by my PC (Win 7) AT ALL. It attempts to install an MTP device driver and fails every time, no matter how many reloads/reinstalls of the USB drivers I have done (even at the generic level).
2: I cannot register this product without Garmin Communicator, and Garmin Communicator plugin is apparently completely incompatible with Firefox 18.0.1.
3: I do get IExplore to work with Garmin Communicator, but it obviously never finds my 2595lmt because of see #1 above.
4: I have just unplugged my 2595lmt and I have a screen with "GARMIN" written on it with the USB Computer Icon still on it, but I cannot shut the unit off, no matter how long I hold down the power button.
5: I can not run any map updates or app downloads from Garmin of any sort because I cannot get anything to connect as it should.
6: Unit was only purchased 3 days ago.
Please assist me. Unloading/Reloading drivers DOES NOT WORK in this case, and other devices I have plugged into USB ports are my Seagate USB Go-Flex 1.5TB harddisk, Gigaware USB-powered speakers, HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus (not powered up and now unplugged from the PC), an APC UPS USB plugin (unplugged), and a WDC USB single 500GB harddisk for basic file transfers (also unplugged now). Unplugging everything except the generic USB keyboard and Microsoft Trakball Mouse does not fix the problem.
Please assist me. Manal registration and updates are looking like the norm at this point.
