I have have been searching about this and I have seen some comments, but not really a request.
I think it would be great having a tool to analyse one or different segments of the activities and compare them, similar to the one we have to compare different activities but comparing different segments in the same activity (or several activities).
I guess most of us have a course we usually run (or bike), and many of us run several loops to the same course in one activity. I have some climbs in my course (I run 1, 2 or 3 loops, depending on the day) and I would like to be able to see the analysis of those climbs in every loop and compare them. I know I can use the lap function and it would be stored in the gps, but if in three loops I have 10km (laps) plus 6 other laps in between them (start and end of the three climbs) it becomes a bit of a mess, and that could be done afterwards in Garmin Connect.
Imagine a section in Garmin Connect (like "Details", "Splits" or "Player") with the graphic of the activity and a slide bar below in which you could move a "start point" and "finish point" (which at the beginning would be at the start and the end of the activity), after placing them in the segment you want to analyse you would click a button called "see segment data" and it would generate a table with all the data of that segment, like the table in the "Splits" section (one row if it has no lap points in between, and several rows and a summary at the end if there are several splits -it can be a hill several km long when biking).
Now you can have another button under the slide bar saying "add segment", when clicking it another slide bar would be added in which you could do the same, placing the start and finish points in another segment (in my case, the same climb in the next loop). Now the button wouldn't be "see segment data" but "compare segments", and it would generate a table like the one comparing activities.
Then it would be amazing if we could compare segments from different activities, that would imply another button saying "add activity", which would give the chance to select a segment in that activity (probably the same climb) and compare it with the previous one.
I don't know if I am asking too much, but I think it would be very useful.
In any case, thanks for reading!!! ;)
