Forgot to restart time...

This morning while running I paused my 610 for a few minutes when I stopped. When I started running again, I forgot to restart the timer right away. Looking at the map of the Activity, there is a red track line that cuts directly between the start and stop points.

How does this affect the averages for the run? Is the direct distance between the two points included in the overall distance for the activity? Also, I know I can edit the distance and time for the event, but is there a way to fix the map?

As for the duration, I assume since the timer was not running, the time spent running between the two points is gone. Or does either the 610 or Garmin Connect use the time stamps on the recorded GPS points to add the time between the points back in?

Thanks for the help.
