"Alert confidence" notice

Periodically, I see a window pop up on my 1490T that says"alert confidence..." and some dates and times follow.
What is this information?
It's pretty small and I don't really have an opportunity to read it while driving.

    Well it'll help if you state the firmware version in your 1490T and also what maps you're using (e.g. City Navigator North America, Europe etc).

    Looking in v6.20 firmware (the latest) the only thing I find is a message "Zone of Confidence" which sounds like a proximity alert of some kind. Do you have a "Safety Camera" database loaded?

    Red light camera could be the cause. It might also be a traffic alert (assuming you're using the traffic receiver and it's enabled). One or both can be disabled so you could try and determine the cause.

    Does this occur on a specific stretch of road? That would provide more info.

    PS: I've looked in the US/Canada Safety Camera Database (.gpi) file and find nothing containing "confidence".

    Good to know. I do have the US/Canada red light database in my 1490T but I live in a remote region (nearest light is 10 miles, next is another 25) and as yet I have not encountered any warnings. I guess I have to go to the big smoke ;)

    Unless the previous owners custom POI's mean something to you I'd just delete them.

    Well what's in the POI folder of your 1490T?

    The US/Canada red light database consists of 3 files

    safety_camera_us_canada.gpi <== Garmin POI
    safety_camera_us_canada.gma <== Unlock code (encrypted)
    safety_camera_us_canada.unl <== Unlock code (plain text)

    If you have files without corresponding GMA/UNL files they're most likely personal custom POI's.

    I think "GARMIN POI.gpi" is the default filename generated by Garmin's POILoader software. "USCanadaCyclopsSample.gpi" is obviously a sample (and perhaps expired) version of the US/Canada red light database (the data is from Cyclops).

    non capisco come si fà a creare un nuovo messaggio e ho trovato solo il modo rispondi. Sapreste dirmi come si fà ad avere il totale delle mie corse di un certo periodo esempio anno 2012? grazie

    Even if expired it should still work. My 1490 came with 'sample' files for all of Europe and they still work fine 2 and a bit years later. Even though they're well out of date they still warn of most speed/red light cameras.
