Syncing GC calendar with external calendar (iCal, Outlook, etc.)

you are totally right..this feature does not help me in any way! The usability of a tool that needs to be updated everytime i'm changing something or when the supported amount of days is over is going near zero..!

Its very easy to do with ical. Turn on "publish Calendar". Copy the address that is provided. Go to ical and crate a new calendar subscription and insert the address that you copied from Garmin. Wala you are done.

I've been trying that but all I get is an error. The file is http://connect.garmin.com/proxy/calendar-service/export/00000000000 (of course I removed the actual numbers) but it's an export file, not an ics. What's going on here? Do you get the same URL like this as well?

No it does not work flawlessly. It doesn't even work with flaws.

I could either "Send Workouts to Device" or "Publish Calendar".

When I chose the latter, a Dialogue (the way we spell it in Ireland!) Box popped up.

So I copied the link and tried to:-

a) "add by URL", or
b) "Import Calendar"

to my Google Calendar.

But it does not work! The following Dialogue Box appears.


Import calendar
Processed zero events.

Failed to import events: Unable to process your ical/CSV file..


I am not impressed because I am typing this up nearly a year and a half after the previous post but Garmin don't seem to have gotten any of their fingers out in the meantime!

Can anyone help? Garmin people? GC Modern doesn't work for me at all... could that have something to do with this problem

I just get the first event in my calendar. Sometimes... Other times I get an error about an invalid format when trying to import into Google Calendar.

Are you just adding the calendar in google under other calendars - an import sounds like a different action. If you add the calendar url from connect then the activities are visible in google calendar and I also have added them to my Outlook - this works fine and shows activities updated as I add or delete them in connect

When uploading to Outlook 2014, one extra step I had to do was to rename the downloaded file to have a .ics extension. Then selected this file type when importing into Outlook. Worked brilliantly.
